Program Design
Academic courses and clinical rotations are held concurrently. Lectures are taught by PRPA staff, clinical affiliate surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and guest lecturers.
Schedules may change based on hospital surgical needs. Clinical responsibilities may require evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and call segments.
Duration
18 months across three rigorous semesters.
Clinical Focus
Open-heart surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, blood management, and plasma exchange.
Simulation
Scenario-based emergency response training.
Outcome
Certificate of cardiovascular perfusion upon meeting all requirements.
